Additional Information
We are honored and thrilled to invite you to the 4th annual Frisco HIS Homeschool Mom's Retreat!
Join us February 10 at Shawnee Trail Church in Frisco, TX with other homeschool mom's for a day of encouragement, refreshment, and pure fun.
As a wife, a mom, a daughter, a friend, do you ever feel overwhelmed? Overwhelmed with caring for and meeting the needs of so many? Are we really called to be everyone's everything? Or is Christ calling us to focus in on the assignment that He has put in front of us in this very moment? Amongst the chaos and noise of our lives how can we focus on the One, Jesus, so that we can better focus on the one that He has assigned to us today, right now? Just as Jesus leaves the 99 to go after the one who needs Him, if we pay attention to the leading of the the great Shepherd, we can also be a light in the dark for a lost little lamb: a hurting friend, a sick child, or a lonely stranger who desperately needs us to share the love of the Savior right in those Holy Spirit moments. Join us this year on our journey For the One!
What will you experience at this retreat: Seasoned homeschool moms will share practical tools with you to help you on your journey. This year we are honored to have Roxanne Parks join us as well as Abbie Halberstadt, from M is for Mama, as our keynote speakers. Join us for this day filled with amazing worship, informative breakouts, delicious lunch, gallons of coffee, our popular Q&A, healing laughter and lots of door prizes!!
Registration is only $79 for this full day of encouragement.
YOU DO NOT NEED TO BE A MEMBER TO ATTEND.
Payment is due upon registration and NO REFUNDS will be issued, thanks for understanding.
Grab a girlfriend, book a hotel and make it a getaway weekend!
Meet Abbie Halberstadt
Abbie is a happy wife, homeschooling mama to ten rad kids, bestselling author, blogger, fitness instructor, and reigning family Nertz champion. But most importantly, she’s a Bible-believing Christian who desires to know God and make Him known. She lives by the motto “hard is not the same thing as bad” and loves encouraging women to dig deep in the everyday trials of motherhood for the treasures of joy and growth that are there in abundance if we’re only willing to look. She, her husband Shaun, and their double handful of children live in the Piney Woods of East Texas.
You can find her online at M is for Mama.
Meet Roxanne Parks
Roxanne was a cheerleader at the University of Oklahoma and has found her calling is to cheer on and encourage homeschool moms. While homeschooling her own children, she served in multiple areas of leadership including a 5 - year term as the director of a large Oklahoma City Homeschool co-op. God planted a seed in heart years ago to start a retreat to encourage mothers in their journey as home educators. Roxanne founded Winter Summit Ministries, the very ministry that birthed our own retreat here in Frisco! She is a prolific author and certified life coach. Roxanne is proud of her 37-year marriage and of her four children and 2 grandsons. As the 2022 Ms. Oklahoma Senior America, she represented the state of Oklahoma at the national competition in Hershey, PA in September 2022 where she was named a finalist. She attributes much of her success to an unfailingly positive perspective about life and its challenges and is currently engaged in expanding the scope of her speaking platform to share her optimistic message with more people across the country. What some are saying about this retreat:
"The speakers were so down to earth and relatable, such a breath of fresh air! But I don't think I'll forget the testimony of the worship leader's daughter. What an example to be able to walk in faith because of her upbringing. All of this retreat has given me pratical and spiritual tips on how to free myself from anger, guilt and frustration on the days when I question whether we are making the right decision to homeschool."
"The decorations were gorgeous. The FHIS crew were so incredibly welcoming, loving and friendly. The speaker brought the Bible to life!"
"My favorite part was the time where you prayed for us. I also loved the opportunities to visit with other homeschool moms and meet the speakers."
"I had a wonderful time. It exceeded my expectation in almost every single way. I am so glad I attended and so glad to be a part of Frisco HIS. The effort that went into this retreat was absolutely apparent!"
